The funeral ceremony commenced an hour and a half late, 8.30 AM(0030 GMT) and included Michael’s children, Prince Michael(12), Paris Michael(10) and Prince Michael II (7) also known as Blanket.

Close friends Macaulay Culkin and Elizabeth Taylor also attended the burial proceedings. The media and film crews were asked to remain at a distance from the service.

Martinez 25, a fan from Riverside, California, gave pink flowers to a man who had an invitation to attend the funeral. "Can you please put these flowers on his grave?" she told him. Martinez said she picked them from a nearby park. "They were small and ugly, but I did that with my heart. I'm not going to be able to get close, so this is as close as I could get to him." The man consented, adding, "God bless."
